Sugar Scone

Ingredients

1 80gms Butter – Room temperature
2 1 Bowl Castor Sugar
3 2 cups All Purpose flour
4 Salt – small bowl
5 300 ml Milk – Room temperature
6 Baking Powder & Baking Soda –1/4 tin
7 1/4 cup 1 number
8 Weighing balance
9 1 tsp 4 numbers
10 1/4 tsp 4 number
11 8big sized bowl
12 1 tbsp 4 numbers
13 8 big sized bowl
14 8 spoons
15 Cutting Board 2

Method

1 Rub the butter into the flour using your fingers
2 Add ingredients 3 to 6 and mix well
3 Make a well in the middle of the mixture and pour in the milk
4 Use a spoon and mix gently to make the dough
5 Gather the dough using the spoon and shape it into a ball
6 Tip the mixture on to a lightly floured surface and divide them into two
7 Gently pat the dough to circles with 1 inch thickness
8 Brush the tops with a little milk and scatter some sugar on top
9 Bake at 180°C for 20-30 mins or until it turns lightly golden brown
10 Sprinkle some icing sugar and serve with whipped cream/jam

Tip

1 Handle the dough very gently. Do not knead or squeeze out air.
